Assignment 8

Problem: Students living on- or off-campus with limited access to a gym, people who live in rural areas with no gyms nearby, and people who don't have transportation options to a gym all may not exercise regularly, (especially for strengthening their muscles). Additionally, trying to get started can be the hardest step since there's mountains of information to search or maybe the person doesn't have access to the Internet to research at all.

Solution: A step-up or plyometric jump box that bundles with the most common home exercise apparatus to get started. The step-up/jump box would able to store everything in a compact manner, especially important for those with limited space. A guide with exercises and figures would be included as well, perhaps even with video links to a playlist for exercise demonstrations. Another form of income could be personal coaching through the Internet with a subscription model with different tiers of service.

  1. The idea of a modular at home workout set of some kind has always been of great interest to me as i like to stay active. But these sets are always very expensive and overly complicated to use for every day workouts. If your set can improve on these issues i would say it has great potential to be a success

  2. Hey Angel,
The home fitness industry has been around for a while, but I believe your jump box with equipment inside is actually a good idea. It would provide storage for the equipment and not be too large for a home. Video would be a must however, as the average American does not know how to workout. Creating workout plans that you could sell, or hiring someone to do that for you, that involve your box and equipment is a big selling point for this idea. Overall I really like the idea.

  3. Hi Angel,
This is an excellent idea. I could see how this fill a need, and I think I would be a prototypical customer. Getting to the gym is a problem by itself for a lot of people; others might just not like going. So, this could solve problems for multiple groups of people. I could definitely see this being profitable. Good idea.
